Joy has an extensive background in volleyball and we are very excited to have her join our MVA staff. She is currently the Head Volleyball Coach at Northpoint Christian School where she has coached for the past 14 years. Four of her teams have made TSSAA Sub-state appearances and one team has been to the TSSAA State tournament. She was named TSSAA Division II-A West Region Coach of the Year in 2010. Joy began her volleyball career playing in Junior High and continued playing in High School where she also played on a Junior Olympic team. Joy was named Best of the Preps Athlete of the Year in 1987. She continued her volleyball career playing on a full volleyball scholarship at Christian Brothers University from 1987-1991. She was TCAC All-Conference all 4 years and made the NAIA All-District Team 2 years. She played USVBA for the Delta Region from 1991-1992 and helped lead the team in winning the Delta Region Championship in 1992. This is Joy’s 3rd year coaching at MVA. Joy’s husband, Mike, is in his 4th year of coaching at MVA. Joy’s daughter, Jade, is an assistant for the 7th-8th grade team at Northpoint Christian School and is in her 2nd year of coaching at MVA.
